Gléz-Serna partying. Yes, our dear friend and collaborator in Sevilla is determined to take us to all the bars, pubs and clubs that he can fit in his body. We’ve insisted: Gléz watch your health, Gléz don’t spend too much… NO, NO, life’s too short… We’ll jst have to see how much damage the Stanislavsky method has caused among bloggers… We leave you with Gléz. You’ve been warned.

Hey all you fags, this afternoon we’re going to Egoísta Star Café, on Santa Bárbara Nº 4 Street, next to La Alameda de Hércules. You’ll find it right when your reach La Alameda from Plaza del Duque, taking Trajano Street. It belongs to a chain of bars, and being that they’re all very different from each other, you have to visit them one by one. This one in particular is my favorite and I recommend it for an afternoon of coffee or something cool to put up with the summer heat. The air conditioning and the intimacy that the tables have are perfect for a gathering, while you wait for the night to fall.

The bar has two lounges and two bars. In the evenings the second lounge gets packed, that’s where the dance floor is, it’s the more lively space of the bar. The first lounge is reserved for those who prefer to talk more and dance less.

The decoration is one of its strong points, above all the purple sofas which are to die for, although some would disagree with me… On Sundays and on weekdays during the evening they have very entertaining shows, on a small stage. We can see the best Drags in Sevilla, a fag show you cannot miss.

The music is mostly 80’s: greatest hits, Cindy Lauper, Turner, Houston, Michael Jackson… But don’t forget the Spanish groups like Fangoria, my all time fave. As the night unravels and everybody gets more and more drunk, they play Raphael, Azucar Moreno and older music for the occasion. Of course, we shouldn’t forget that they throw in some current music in there, too, but the the main feature here is just that: 80’s and Spanish Pop.

The prices aren’t really out of the ordinary, the atmosphere, on the other hand is ideal.
